The Hanfparade is the largest and most traditional demonstration for cannabis in Germany. Since 1997, the political demonstration march has taken place annually in Berlin and calls for a responsible societal approach to hemp — as medicine, as a renewable raw material, and as a recreational substance for adults.

On August 8, 2026, the Hanfparade celebrates its 30th anniversary. The motto is Fair, Healthy, Enjoy! and reflects experiences so far with the Cannabis Act: fair rules for consumers and cultivation associations, health-oriented regulation instead of criminal prosecution, and a mindful approach to one of humanity's oldest cultivated plants.

The meeting point is at 12 o'clock at Neptunbrunnen at Alexanderplatz. The opening rally starts there with speeches from politicians, scientists, and activists. Around 3 p.m., the parade sets in motion with colorful floats and leads through the government district past the Bundestag to the Brandenburg Gate and back to the main train station. Around the demo route, visitors can expect a main stage with live music, DJ sets, and information stands from associations, cultivation cooperatives, and specialist businesses. The program continues on the closing grounds until around 10 p.m.

Anyone who wants to advocate for sensible drug policy is welcome to participate. Participation is free; donations to support the organization are welcome.
