The Japan International Hemp Expo, or JIHE for short, is Japan's largest international hemp and CBD trade event. On November 13 and 14, 2026, it opens its doors again in Tokio, offering the rapidly growing Japanese CBD industry its own platform. The event is organized by Japanese media provider Asabis, which has been managing the event for several years.
Japan has recently significantly regulated its approach to cannabinoids. Pure CBD remains legal, but production standards, THC limits, and labeling requirements will become stricter in 2026. This is precisely where JIHE comes in. The conference brings together lawyers, regulatory experts, manufacturers, importers, and retailers to explain how companies can operate legally on the Japanese market under the new conditions.
The parallel exhibition showcases the full spectrum of the industry. Exhibitors include suppliers of raw materials, extracts, finished products, cosmetics, beverages, and wellness items. Hemp as a building material, textile, and food also gets its own space. Entry is free after pre-registration, which makes JIHE particularly attractive for newcomers and international visitors.
For European companies, Tokio is an interesting market because Japanese consumers place strong emphasis on quality, safety, and brand image and are willing to pay higher prices for high-quality CBD products.
