The CannaSwissCup is Switzerland's oldest cannabis cup and has been awarded since 1998. The awards ceremony for the 2026 edition takes place on May 30, 2026 as part of CannaTrade Zürich and honors the best cannabis strains and hashish from Switzerland and — for the first time — from across Europe.
Prizes are awarded in four classic categories: Indoor, Outdoor, Greenhouse, and Hash. Producers, breeders, and extractors were able to submit their strains until December 31, 2025; judging is carried out by an independent jury of experienced testers.
New as of the 2025/26 edition: The CannaSwissCup is now internationally open. Producers from Germany, Austria, the Netherlands, Spain, and other European countries can also participate — a direct response to the dynamic development of the European cannabis market following Germany's partial legalization.
The awards ceremony itself is part of the supporting program of the CannaTrade (May 29–31, 2026) and is included in the regular trade fair ticket. It is considered one of the highlights of the fair and attracts breeders, industry professionals, and fans alike. The event is organized by Nachtschatten Verlag in collaboration with CannaTrade.
