The Asia International Hemp Expo and Forum, known as AIHEF, is expected to relocate to Tokio in 2026. From November 18 to 20, 2026, the trade fair is set to present itself to the Japanese public for the first time, according to Japan's export organization JETRO. The AIHEF is one of Asia's largest specialized events for hemp and cannabis and traditionally attracts several thousand professional visitors and several hundred exhibitors.
The concept combines an exhibition with an extensive conference program. On display will be genetics, cultivation technology, extraction equipment, CBD products, cosmetics, food, textiles, and hemp-based building materials. The accompanying forum brings together regulatory authorities, science, and industry to discuss market opportunities across Asia, particularly in Japan, Thailand, South Korea, Taiwan, and Singapore.
From the organizers' perspective, Japan is a logical step. The market for CBD products has been growing double digits for years, while lawmakers are simultaneously tightening rules on THC limits and approvals. The AIHEF in Tokio aims to accompany this transformative phase and facilitate Japanese companies' access to international supply chains.
